When I came to Spain..

Hi it´s me again. Nothing changed- we still love the city and the weather is better each day :)

There is so many things I want to describe and so many things I want to share but days seem to be so short. Everyday looks different and I don´t know when the evening appears.

Yesterday someone took (I hope not on purpose) a remote control for air conditioner.. We were dying because of hot air. A work in such a conditions is impossible! But we still do not missing the weather in our country :)

love to see it 3:)

  • There is a lot of attractions in Barcelona right now. For example :

Holi Festival Of Colours Barcelona
https://www.facebook.com/HoliFestivalOfColoursBarcelona?fref=ts
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HltruTVcTYE
Barcelona, this year

The Festivals of Colours are organised by the Holi Concept GmbH (founders and initiators of the first Holi Festival Of Colours in Europe).

I found the desription and some history on the main site:
"The HOLI Festival takes place on the day of the fullmoon of the Phaluga month and is one of the most famous celebrations in the northern parts of India. At this Hindu-Festival people celebrate the victory of the good over the bad and the beginning of the spring.

The special feature is that the people paint themselves with various colours and throw colourful powder in the air to express the freedom and to colour their everyday life. The most important thing is, that on this day all castes of the indian caste-system are nullified and put out of force. On this day of celebration all people are supposed to be equal!

Pure Emotions

This is where the idea to bring this festival to the rest of the world come from. Unfortunately there is a huge level of inequality in the world and people deserve a celebration where the everyday life takes a step back and people come together in peace and harmony. A pleasant and cheerful festival, which leave a lasting impression on visitors and those who will read or hear about it. This Event has the power to directly promote and foster equality and tolerance and bring people together."

A lot of cities around the world are organizing this event. Los Angeles, London, Frankfurt, NYC.

  • Apart of what we want to do in Barcelona we also started to cook their national dishes!

Paella and Sangria were DE LI CIO US!

we ate it all:)
Paella is very simple and quick to do. You can also mix it with your favourite ingredients. Yummy!

Receipt for Paella:

  1. 1 tbsp olive oil
  2. 1 leek or onion, sliced
  3. 110g pack chorizo sausage, chopped
  4. 1 tsp turmeric
  5. 300g long grain rice
  6. 1l hot fish or chicken stock
  7. 200g frozen peas
  8. 400g frozen seafood mix, defrosted

Heat the oil in a deep frying pan, then soften the leek for 5 mins without browning. Add the chorizo and fry until it releases its oils. Stir in the turmeric and rice until coated by the oils, then pour in the stock. Bring to the boil, then simmer for 15 mins, stirring occasionally.
Tip in the peas and cook for 5 mins, then stir in the seafood to heat through for a final 1-2 mins cooking or until rice is cooked. Check for seasoning and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

  • Yeees and there was also a time for sightseeing. The sightseeing isn't a much pleasure when the weather is for-the beach-only but I was pretty excited. We went to see a Barri Gótic (Barrio Gótico-Spanish)

This is the medieval district of Barcelona, the center of Barcelona's Old Town - Ciutat Vella. We saw therealso Casa de la Ciutat (a city hall) and Palau de la Generalitat de Catalunya (a presidential palace).

It was amazing! The streets were very narrow and all the buildings helped me imagine living there in the Middle Ages. Now there's a lot of restaurants, flats and shops.

(I found American Appareal there, yaay 3:) )

By the way. Rebajas and in English discounts started 2 weeks ago in Barcelona and I must admit that people are crazy about it. Barcelona can really inspire you if we're talking about clothes and style.

Next time I will write something about my friends here :) I will focus on what I'm intrested in- I mean what is the difference between lifestyles of people from different countries.

Dear Sagrada Familia are you going to be finished or not?! By the way we found this Desperados in a polish shop. Two girls from Poland are working there, you can find there even Kubuś (a juice).

Buena noche
:)
